Release Notes: 0.4 (1.13) Filtering and Blocking Feature Update

Release Notes: 0.4 (1.13) Safety: User Generated Content Update

From every profile you can now select ellipsis on the upper right which brings up a submenu

Block User - Block a user which is detailed below

Report a user - flags a user for review detailed below

Message user - If you have admin level 2 or higher you can message any used whenever you want. (See below)

Admin level is set manually in the database. The following levels control various features inside the app.

1 - Can send invitations to other users to allow them into the platform.

2 - Can send messages to other users outside of a request

3 - Review flagged content

4 - Enables ability to view all requests in the myLists view

Block & Flag User - When you block a user they do not appear in “select Villager” screens or in the villager search view, you can also not view their profile.  The ability to block a user is by clicking on the ellipsis on the profile screen and select “Block User”.  If you are blocked or if you blocked someone you essentially become invisible to each other on the platform.

Manage your blocklist in the Legal & Privacy in settings.

Block and Flag Requests

From the request screen the user can report inappropriate content and block users. The inappropriate content will get reviewed by admin team.  Blocking requests will prevent them from being seen. Blocking users are the same as above.

Other Changes

  • Removed the words “Status: Available” from select villager screen as its irrelevant

  • Added descriptions to settings screen menu items

  • Fixed signup terminology when signing up with an unwhitelisted email

  • Bell has been added to home screen which brings up past notifications sent to user so can act on past notifications and quickly jump to those who have been messaged.

For Testers:

Clicking on ellipses in the upper right corner on another users profile or in a incoming request screen will bring up privacy and filtering features.

Reporting a user or a request simply flags the item for admin review.  From there you have an option to block the user as well. Blocked users cannot see or interact with each other in any way, as if they are invisible to each other.

You can unblock a user in user settings, Legal & Privacy.

Blocking a request will filter the request from everywhere in the app, it will be as if the request is invisible to the user who blocked it.

If a user chooses to block a request which they have already accepted, the request will be canceled and a notification will be sent to the hirer notifying them that the helper has canceled the request.

Blocking a user is anonymous and neither party will be notified.
